Where/how does Sass shine at BLDC?
Sass: I would say that not only by bringing fun and silliness into the everyday camp experience but the comfy cozy too. My camp nickname is Sassy which I think is a good indication of what I bring to the table! Of course, not to forget, Liv and I are the queens of all things 4th of July!
Sass: I love to embrace the camp spirit. Our professional Dance teachers are responsible for giving the best dance classes a camp could possibly offer and once all the Dance is done for the day I break in with the bunk games, cupcake wars, lip-sync, and counselor dress up games! That is the best part of BLDC – you will get incredible instruction while still getting all the fun benefits of being at camp! I help provide the silly, the fun, and the comfy cozy to all things Brant Lake.
Do you remember your first day at Brant Lake Dance Camp?
Sass: As soon as I walked off the bus I was flooded by campers and counselors who were so excited to meet me and welcomed me with open arms. I loved my first summer so much, that even though I was only supposed to stay for 3 weeks, I ended up staying longer! My second summer gave me the opportunity to pay it forward by welcoming the new campers off the bus on their very first day and help them feel comfortable. I knew I’d be back as a counselor – a place I have grown to call not only home, but my happy place. Brant Lake is a unique experience for campers for many reasons. The specialization makes it easier to connect with fellow campers because we already have sports in common, the camp is smaller than traditional camps, which allows for close personal relationships to form between campers of all ages, and Brant Lake is place that even if you are coming from a previous camp
“Sass’s more than just the Assistant Director, she’s like your favorite older cousin, best friend and personal cheerleader combined.”

What’s your favorite costume that you ever wore at Brant Lake?
Sass: I will say two of my all time favorite costumes I have worn is “The Kar-trash-ians” during lip-sync where we wore garbage bags and dressed up like Kim and Kris. OR, … when I wore my animal onesie to host the bunk dress up game!
